Our Chef Story
Our proud Head Chef, Awin, was born and raised in Bangkok. From a very young age, he fell in love with how Thai Cuisine can bring people from different nations together. With 25 years of experience, Awin was inspired and trained by his grandmother. Curious to know more, Awin once asked his grandmother why her signature dish, Pad Kra Pao, was so much better and different from others. To his surprise, his grandmother revealed the secret recipe that had been in their family for generations, finally passing it down to him. Awin teamed up with our founder, and that’s how Soi 55 Thai Kitchen was born. His journey from the streets of Bangkok to leading one of the biggest Thai restaurant chains in Malaysia is the result of his passion and talent for Thai Cuisine.
